FIRST TIMOTHY PART 34

A STUDY IN FIRST TIMOTHY

Chapter Three:

“For they that have used the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.” (Verse 13; KJV)

Paul concludes the qualifications for the Deacons by sharing the satisfaction the Deacon will have in serving the Lord and His followers. If he has done the job correctly, he will grow in faith, because through his office he has successfully ministered to people. Herein lays the secret to spiritual growth; as we reach out to others we are edified because of our obedience to His calling. When we see the results of God through us, we gain even more confidence and boldness in our faith.

One of the reasons for numerical growth in the local church was they were operating under God’s guidelines. When a church does its own thing, it will be on its own. The majority of negative situations in churches are due to carnal leadership. When will we ever learn!

NOTICE:
OPEN YOUR MAIL started as a verse by verse study of I Timothy. Its objective was to explain to readers how the early church functioned. I hoped it would help Believers to understand why the church is so ineffective today.

Due to the lack of committed readers, I will indefinitely end the Bible study. Tomorrow will be the last entry. Thank you to those who have followed these lessons. I only hope it has helped you in some way. The site will remain on line for those who may want to review the lessons. Thanks again for your support.

SIMPLY RHETORICAL which has been online for almost three years will continue to publish articles every Monday.
